Week 2

Hello everyone! This week has been all about studying and homework as well in order to prepare for my two, upcoming final exams. We finished discussing other body fluids such as amniotic fluid, semen, and vaginal secretions. In the laboratory, we continued our practice of cell counting, differentiation, and identification. I was able to observe a calcium oxalate crystal under the microscope for the first time which was very exciting! So far, the majority of what I have seen in urine has been yeast, red blood cells, epithelial squamous cells, and some white blood cells. I’ve included a picture of a slide from my lab below!
